MassMailer 4.53 Release Notes

MassMailer 4.53 version has the following bug fixes and other improvements.


New Features

  1. MassMailer Email Monitor:
    • Ability to select the language, region/country, industry while sending the email deliverability test.
    • Ability to define the sending domain (to be set up by MassMailer team in the backend).
  2. Campaign
    • Ability to add campaign member merge fields in the template such as campaign member name.
  3. Email Verifier
    • Ability to capture 'spamtrap', 'abuse', 'do not mail' additional status values and also sub-status values such as, 'disposable', 'toxic', alias address', etc.
  4. Template Builder
    • New look and feel

Bug Fixes

  1. Campaign:
    • Send Test does not send email to the logged in user even though it displays a confirmation message.
    • Advanced Editor retains the template that was developed so that users can come back and edit the advanced email template even after saving the campaign.
    • Auto select the advanced template radio button when an advanced template is selected.
  2. Template Builder
    • Fixed the issue with the Template Builder loading, saving, and image uploading.
    • Fixed the issue with the Save to Salesforce functionality.
  3. Process Builder
    • Merge fields not working for the contact object when sending the email alerts using the Opportunity Email Alert.
    • Template Subject was not getting populated when sending emails from the process builder email alerts.
    • Add a property called 'Send Email to Primary Contact Only' which takes a true/false value which dictates if the email should be sent only to the primary contact role of an opportunity when sending email alerts to opportunities using the process builder.
  4. Stay-In-Touch
    • List View was not working in the stay in touch feature.


  1. Campaign:
    • Correct the typo in the confirmation message: ‘Your test email has been send to:’ by replacing ‘send’ with ‘sent’.
    • If the subject is empty, throw an error that ‘Email subject is missing.’ instead of showing that as an information message.
    • Rename ‘Save’ button on the ‘Schedule via MassMailer’ page to ‘Save Campaign’.
    • If a user does not click on the Editor Save button and tries to save the campaign then instead of showing a warning, show an error.
  2. File Attachment API
    • Return the JSON as the response that includes the status, email statistics object id, cronjob id.
  3. Browser Tabs
    • Change the browser tab title for template editor page to 'MassMailer Email Template Builder | Salesforce'
    • Change the browser tab title for template editor page to 'MassMailer Email Monitor | Salesforce'

How to upgrade?

  1. You can click on the MassMailer AppExchange Link and click on the 'Get It Now' button. If you did not log in to AppExchange yet it will show a login screen so that you can enter your Salesforce Admin credentials to log in. Now you can click on the 'Get It Now' button once again to install the latest version.
  2. Please make sure that you install for all the users.
  3. A dialog will prompt for permission to approve third-party settings. Select Yes, grant access to these third-party web sites, then click Continue.

  4. If your current MassMailer version is LESS than 4.48, then you will have to make sure that you follow the MassMailer setup once again completely to make sure everything is in place, as we have introduced a lot of features in between.
    • If you do not have the SendGrid API Key you need to make sure that you create one by following the instructions at this link. Please make sure you store this API Key in a secure place since you will need this in the future.

    • Here are the complete instructions for MassMailer Setup. Please make sure you go through them once again and setup anything missing.

  5. If your current version is 4.48 then follow the instructions below.
    • Upgrade to the latest package 
    • Remote Site Settings
      • Make sure you are in the classic mode, click on the Home tab, copy the browser URL up to
      • Navigate to Salesforce Setup -> Remote Site Settings -> Add a new site, 'SFDC_Base_URL' and add the URL that you got in the previous step.
    • Site Changes
      • Navigate to Salesforce Setup -> Sites -> Find the site that you created for MassMailer -> Click on the label value -> Public Access Settings -> Find Standard File Security Section -> 
        • Click on View for Campaign Members -> Edit -> Select 'Create' and 'Edit' checkboxes for 'Email Verification Status', and 'Email Verification Sub Status' -> Save
        • Click on View for Campaign -> Edit -> Select 'Total Abuse', 'Total Do Not Mail', 'Total Catch All', and 'Total Spamtrap' -> Save
        • Click on View for Contact -> Edit -> Select 'Email Verification Sub Status'-> Save
        • Click on View for Lead -> Edit -> Select 'Email Verification Sub Status'-> Save
        • Click on View for Sendgrid4sf -> Edit -> Select all the fields -> Save
    • Finish    
      • Click on the 'Finish' button on the MassMailer Setup -> Finish page.
    • Page Layout
      • Add 'Email Verification Sub Status' to the Contact and the Lead page layouts.
